People Don’t Read. They Scan Your Website.
Design for scanning. Make actions obvious. Hide nothing important.

The truth about attention
Most visitors don't read your site, they scan it. They skim headings, images, and key phrases, hunting for a reason to stay. Design for that, or lose them in seconds.
Design for the skim
Assume nobody reads word for word. Lead with clear headlines, break up text, and let the important things stand out. If someone can understand your page in a five-second glance, you've won.
Hierarchy does the heavy lifting
Size, spacing, and contrast tell people where to look and in what order. Good hierarchy guides the eye without the visitor noticing. Bad hierarchy makes everything shout, so nothing gets heard.
Make the next action obvious
A scanning visitor should never wonder what to do next. One clear, visible action per screen. If they have to search for the button, you've added friction you didn't need.
Hide nothing that matters
If it's important, don't bury it below the fold or behind a click. Put the value, the proof, and the next step where scanning eyes actually land. Clarity always beats cleverness.
